Microsoft Exchange Rpc Client Access Not Starting Sbs 2011 Remote

Good morning! I have a client with a server running SBS 2011 Standard. It was originally setup with Exchange for the office but some time before I took over IT they migrated to a hosted Exchange service. My latest issue is that their version of Exchange isn't compatible with.NET 4.6 and my remote management software needs it for the latest update. I have looked into disabling Exchange in the past but haven't had much luck with it, I'm not familiar enough with it to be sure I got it right. From my understanding I can just disable the Exchange services but will that be enough to allow the server to install the.NET upgrade? Currently the server is being used for DHCP, Domain Controller, and file storage.

If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be hugely appreciated. I'm better with Linux servers so the few Windows servers I maintain always give me a bit of grief, haha.
